German chancellor inaugurates 2nd generation biofuel plant – Actemium is there

In Freiburg, Saxony, a new plant for the production of biofuels built by the company CHOREN was inaugurated in the presence of the German chancellor. This is the first production plant worldwide for biofuels of the 2nd generation. The novelty is that the biofuels are produced using a synthesis gas process, eliminating the need for foodstuffs such as rapeseed or maize and using by-products from the food production industry instead.

Actemium was commissioned by Siemens within this project to realise the total scope of engineering services for the DCS using the MFL standards for PCS7. The company also supplied the cabinets, performed the function test and was involved in the systems startup.
