Project description:

Under the project name "Vitex", a production plant for the manufacture of vitamin E was constructed that will cover approx. 40% of the world market requirement. The project had a total investment amount of CHF 179 million, of which CHF 35 million was used for the electrical/I&C systems.

Scope of services:

  • Adaptation of the MFL to customer's requirements
  • Creation of all software (PCS 7) and software project management
  • 540 basic functions, 100 process units, 700 plant mimic diagrams
  • Software tests and startup assistance

 

 

Technical highlights:

  • PCS 7 system using the MFL library
  • 2 redundant PCS 7 server pairs
  • 10 operator stations (in some case in the ex-area)
  • 27 automation stations AS 416-2 DP
  • Profibus PA for coupling of field instrumentation
  • Profibus DP for coupling of drives (frequency converter)
  • Ex-remote I/O system ABB S900
  • 1,000 drives, 4,200 field instruments
