Type of plant:

New Kero HDS3 Unit

Customer:

Technip Düsseldorf

Project site:

Leuna

Project description:

In order to comply with the new specification for heating oil/diesel fuel in force since the beginning of 2009, Total Raffinerie Mitteldeutschland in Leuna constructed a third desulphurisation plant. The contractor for the complete plant was Technip Düsseldorf. Actemium was contracted by Technip to erect the complete electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
One highlight was the complex assembly processes in very tight timeframes specified by the construction subcontractors. Manpower deployment could therefore only be carried out at very short notice and had to be continuously adapted to construction progress (fast track project).
In addition to the high safety standards in the refinery, assembly activities were subject to special procedures because the construction site lay in close proximity to production facilities.
Additional services included materials management, erection layout, loop tests and startup assistance.
